Geraint Thomas completed the 36-hour challenge to raise funds for NHS Charities Together, a national membership organization representing 140 charities.
The former Tour de France winner rode his Turbo Trainer for three consecutive days this past weekend in his garage in Wales, encouraging fans to join him in Zwift's virtual ride world.
The Team Ineos rider rode with the goal of raising €100,000 and by the end of the challenge had raised nearly €300,000; as of April 20, Thomas has more than tripled his goal, raising €363,714. There is still time to donate (opens in new tab).
More than 14,000 people have donated, reflecting the hours Thomas pedals in three 12-hour shifts, especially the hours spent by the average healthcare worker on the front lines of the current pandemic.
Team Ineos released a video of the event on Monday, concluding with Thomas getting revenge on the webcam with a champagne cork.
