Roka debuts its newest cycling sunglasses, the Matador. The proven optics and frame design are unlike any of the best cycling glasses available today.
The Texas eyeglass specialist wanted to produce single-lens wraparound cycling optics with superior ergonomics and helmet clearance, and the new Matador is the result.
Roka used C3 lens technology to successfully offer a variety of shades in the new Matador. Depending on the local riding conditions, the user can choose from 10 different lens coatings, ranging from pure light transparency to autumnal tints.
In terms of pure performance, Matador's 7-base cylindrical lenses have a distortion-free field of view, even though they are curved to provide ample coverage.
Using the latest environmental coating technology, Matador lenses are fingerprint resistant, do not fog up even when the temperature changes dramatically while driving, and have strong hydrophobicity so that sweat drops do not leave streak marks.
What makes the Roka Matador truly stand out is its structural design. The nylon frame weighs only 28 grams, but even more impressive is its shape.
Roka's designers have succeeded in providing a remarkably low profile cycling sunglass that allows for exceptional helmet clearance thanks to the V-shaped arms and low hinge contact points. the Matador's frame tension can be adjusted Comfort is further enhanced by the titanium wire fitment system.
To hold Matador riding sunglasses securely in place, Roka has developed the Geko retention system, which uses soft elastomer ribbed inserts in the Matador arms and nose pads to keep the contact points securely in place without uncomfortably tightening the contact points.
Available in seven color combinations, the Roka Matador is priced at 190 pounds and comes with four nose pads to fit any face shape.
