Polish national time trial champion Kamil Gradec joined the Vini Zaboo team to help CCC team support sprinter Jakub Maleczko after the Polish World Tour team disappeared.
Polish shoe brand CCC sold its World Tour license to Circus Wantigover after the COVID-19 craze led to a drastic reduction in sponsorship and team manager Jim Ochowicz was unable to find a new sponsor The team sold its World Tour license to Circus Wantigovert. As a result, many players scrambled for new teams, but only Michael Parta, Guillaume van Kersbulck, and Fran Ventoso reportedly did not sign contracts for 2021.
Vini Zabou is in the market for Fabio Aru, who is trying to get his career back on track after three troubled seasons with UAE team Emirates. However, Aru has yet to confirm his team for 2021, and Kubeka-Assos and Bardiani-CSF are also reportedly in talks with the Sardinian.
Bardiani-CSF has secured Cipollini-Bike as its main technical sponsor for 2021 and convinced Giovanni Visconti to leave Vini Zabù.
Vini Zabù's team manager, Angelo Citracca, took advantage of the flood of riders on the market to bolster his team in order to secure wild cards to the Giro d'Italia and other races in 2021. He signed with Maletzko, who also rode for the CCC team before returning to the Italian pro team, and Gradec will play a key role in his leadout.
One of the tallest riders in the peloton, Gladek will ride the Giro d'Italia in both 2019 and 2020 and finished ninth in the time trial to Milan this year. He defeated the experienced Maciej Bodnar of Bora-Hansgrohe to become the current Polish national time trial champion.
"After a difficult year for everyone, I am happy to find a team where I can continue my career at the highest level," Gladek said of his move to Vinny Zaboo.
"There are new challenges and adventures ahead and many opportunities to not only show what I can do, but also to run for myself. I want to show what I can do and live up to the trust of my new team with good results. At the same time, I want to thank everyone at CCC for the past two seasons."
