LeMond Bikes today released images of the Prolog, a lightweight e-bike designed for everyday use. Targeted at riders who desire a sleek battery-assisted bike, the overall carbon fiber construction has a distinctly upscale look and finish.

Integrated frame features are a strong design theme of the Prolog. Lumondo's industrial designers embedded LEDs in the chainstays to improve rider visibility.

The bike is fitted with flat bars. The cockpit is compact and all cables are neatly routed through the stem to various internally routed locations. Lumondo's handlebars and stem also incorporate powerful LED lights for safe commuting at dawn or dusk.

Equipped with Shimano's GRX 1x11 gravel drivetrain and hydraulic brakes, the bike rolls on aluminum rims with 700x38c tires.

Pedal assist is a Mahle X35+ mid-drive motor rated at 250w and 40Nm of torque output. Engineers optimized the Mahle system for speeds between 15 and 25 km/h, and the motor stops when the speed exceeds 32 km/h.

Le Monde claims that the Prologue can travel 74 km with pedal assist, but the range can be extended by using a 250 Wh external battery pack.

The geometry chart for the L size shows a head angle of 71 degrees, a seat angle of 73 degrees, and a stack height of 635 mm; the Prologe has a reach of 420 mm and an overall bike weight of a very reasonable 11.7 kg.

The core specifications of the Pro Rogue can be upgraded with LeMond LC30 carbon fiber wheels, a composite basket and rack mount, or a Shimano Di2 electronic drivetrain.

Commercial availability is scheduled for late February and will be available in three colors (Blanc, Noir, and Rosa). The launch price is $4,500, and of course the LeMond name on the downtube is worth it.
