Cervélo today unveiled the Áspero-5, adding a lighter, more integrated and more aerodynamic model to its gravel platform.
After a thorough analysis of the Áspero series, the Cervélo technical team wanted to offer a bike that, in their own words, "carries more ass, not more luggage," and the result is the Áspero-5, which is 10% lighter and 32 grams less aerodynamic, It currently tops the lineup with a price range from £8,199/$6,900/€7,999 to £10,799/$9,000/€10,499.
The Áspero-5's frame features industrial design touches. The integrated cockpit provides easy access for maintenance, but also reduces the risk of snagging, which is more likely to occur as you roll into more adventurous gravel riding terrain. In addition, the top tube mounting is recessed for additional storage. The underside of the down tube is protected by an integrated shield to reduce visual damage from road debris.
The best gravel tires are becoming wider and have larger casings, providing gravel riders with improved ride comfort and traction when climbing, braking, and cornering, especially on loose terrain. The Aspero-5 can be equipped with 650bx51mm or 700cx45mm tires, with plenty of clearance for all kinds of traction without the pesky mud-clogging problems.
In keeping with the bike's go-fast philosophy, Cervélo has included a power meter as standard on all bikes: the SRAM models get an integrated Quarq power meter as part of the groupset, while the GRX models get a 4III dual-side option
In addition, the SRAM models are equipped with the Quarq power meter as part of the groupset.
In addition, all bikes will be fitted with 32mm rims from the company's own Reserve wheel brand, mated to DT Swiss hubs.
The industrial designers of the new Áspero-5 project wanted to integrate a cockpit suitable for an updated Cervélo gravel bike. The result is a range of aluminum stems ranging in length from 70mm to 130mm, all with internal routing. clamped to the Áspero-5 stem is a gravel-specific drop bar with a width of 380-440mm. this cirvelo aspero-5 handlebar bar has a geometry of 80 mm reach, 121 mm drop, and 16 degrees of flare.
The Áspero 5 is priced from £8,199 and comes with a Force eTap AXS 1. It is equipped with a 700 x 38mm Panaracer Gravel King SK with a 36t SRAM Force AXS 1 crankset and power meter.
There is a Shimano GRX RX815 Di2 for £8,699, which features dual-sided power meters. The most luxurious Aspero-5 is a SRAM RED eTap AXS 1 assembly kit for £10,799.
