Continental is celebrating its 150th anniversary by offering a limited number of OPEN New U.P. gravel bikes painted "Continental Yellow". The bikes will be limited to 150 units and each bike will have an individual serial number and a Bike Passport badge.
The OPEN New U.P. gravel frame is finished in a unique color scheme and is fitted on both ends with Continental's top-of-the-line gravel tires, the Terra Trail tires. These Continental tires have a special 40mm casing width and orange-cream color to complete the limited edition look. These styled rubbers are mounted on hand-made RAVeL carbon wheels.
Shimano's GRX gravel loop set was chosen for this Continental Anniversary model. The drivetrain combines a 40T chainring with an 11-42T cassette, and Shimano GRX disc brakes keep the rider in control on loose and tricky descents. The [Continental OPEN New U.P. was fitted with Crank Brothers' Highline dropper post, as on-the-fly seat height adjustment is appropriate for a good gravel bike. The saddle is a Fizik Terra Argo X3.
Available in four sizes (small, medium, large, and extra-large), the OPEN New U.P. Limited Edition Continental Anniversary bike retails for €4,200.
Jan-Niklas Junger, product manager for Continental's road cycling tires, is understandably excited about the brand's limited edition birthday bike.
"We wanted to give the award-winning Terra series a truly unique look by incorporating Continental's signature colors. Gravel is still a young segment and we were able to immortalize our passion for mobility with a limited edition bike collaboration."
