World champion Lucinda Brand (Valoise Trek Lions) leads the women's UCI Cyclocross World Cup Series ranking, while Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels-Sausen Bingoeln) is the men's He took the top spot in the series ranking.
Brand finished third in the women's standings behind lone winner Kata Blanca Vas (SD Walks) and runner-up Puck Pieterse (Alpecin Phoenix). Brand finished second in the series opener in Waterloo, followed by a win in Fayetteville, fourth in Iowa City, and second in Sonnhofen.
She had a mishap in the first pit section at Oberlaise, where she tangled with Femme Van Emple (Pauwels Sauzen Bingor) at the top of the asphalt start in the opening round. However, she said she was satisfied with her third-place finish and the overall series lead after five rounds.
Brand is tied with Denise Betsema (Pauwels Sausen Bingor) with 147 points, with Puck Peters in third place with 112 points and Blanca Vas in fourth with 105 points.
"I was not the only one who made the tactical choice to change bikes. To lose a position here is not ideal... It was good to have three bikes in front of me, but it was my mistake to take the pace away from Yara [Castellane]. Still, I'm happy with third place," Brand said.
Yzerbito held off teammates Michal Vanthourenhout and Toon Arts (Valoise Trek Lions) for his third win in the series.
He also won in Waterloo and Iowa City, finishing second in Fayetteville and third in Sonnhofen.
Iserbyt increased his series points to 175, with Michael Vanthourenhout in second with 130 and Toon Arts in third with 129.
"It was a perfect day. As a leader, I just ran tempo when the other riders didn't want to run down the finish straight. I think that's what you have to do as a leader. I'm very happy to win and extend my lead," Iserbitt said.
