Genevieve Jansson and Tinker Juarez will be one of five cyclists competing for Floyd of Leadville Racing (FLR) in 2022. The newly formed off-road team will target gravel mountain bike racing in North America.

Team Principal Will Geoghegan and Team Director Paul Thomas will be joined by three-time UCI Masters Cross Country Mountain Bike World Champion David 'Tinker' Juarez, 2021 Unbound XL Champion Taylor Rideen In addition, Anne Donley, under-23 mountain biker Victor Cachez, and former road cyclist Genevieve Jansson will lead the five-rider team. Landis and David Zabriskie will ride as team guests at select events next season, according to a team press release.
Juarez, 62, enjoyed success in BMX in the 1970s and 1980s before turning into a cross-country and mountain marathon racer. He is a two-time Team USA Olympic member, three-time NORBA National Cross Country Champion (1994, 1995, 1998), Pan Am Games gold medalist (1995), three-time UCI Masters Cross Country World Champion, and five-time NORBA National 24 Hour Champion.
He was also the last American male professional to win a UCI World Cup cross-country race until Christopher Blevins' (Trinity Racing) historic victory in Snowshoe, West Virginia in September.
"Tinker's passion for bicycle racing has forever evolved from BMX to MTB to endurance and ultra-endurance, and since 2001 he has set the standard for endurance racing, competing in a variety of events that other racers can only fantasize about. Jansson, 40, is returning to the gravel cycling scene after more than 15 years away from the sport. She confessed in 2007 to using erythropoietin (EPO) for most of her career, and subsequently, she was the subject of an investigation conducted by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) into her allegedly abusive former coach Andre Aubut and Montreal-based physician Maurice Duquette. Their 10-year bans were reduced for cooperating with the investigation. Both men were handed lifetime bans.
In a 2015 interview with Cycling News, Janson detailed allegations of verbal and physical abuse as a teen and adult, as an athlete, and in his personal life outside of sport. Referring to his own experience in an open letter to the UCI expressing concern about abuse in sport, Jansson wrote, "As you may recall, I retired from professional cycling in 2006 after failing an EPO test. In my situation, the 'omerta' surrounding the abuse by my coach and my continued use of EPO were inextricably linked."

Rideen, 32, is one of 60 athletes selected for the inaugural Lifetime Grand Prix Series in 2022. He began racing endurance mountain bikes in 2015, and career highlights include a win at this year's Unbound Gravel XL, a victory at the 24 Hours in Old Pueblo Solo (2018), and second place at the 24 Hour World Championships (2018).
Donnelly, 44, began racing in 2010 and has won multiple Colorado road and criterium titles, as well as national titles in criterium and track. In gravel racing, he has placed in the top 10 at the Belgian Waffle Ride San Diego, Cedar City, and Lawrence, as well as at Gravel Worlds.
"If we aren't laughing and having a good time riding, why are we doing this? The camaraderie is what I am looking for."
Cash, 21, competes in Team USA's 23-and-under mountain bike races and this year finished 13th in the Sea Otter Pro men's cross-country event and 22nd in the inaugural Big Sugar Gravel Floyd's of Leadville is a gravel and mountain bike racing to support Cash's growth.
Floyd's of Leadville Racing has confirmed that it will debut at the Gravel and Whine event in Temecula, CA on January 29. The team staff and athletes will also come together for a team training camp in Temecula from February 5-13.
The team will compete in the Belgian Waffle Ride Quadruple Crown event (BWR), the Lifetime Grand Prix Series (LGP), the Southeast Gravel Series (SES), and the Old Pueblo 24 Hours and Bora Epic MTB & Gravel have confirmed plans to compete in gravel and mountain bike events such as.
Floyd of Leadville Racing is partnering with the Go4Graham Foundation (opens in new tab). The foundation is a community-based effort aimed at eliminating mental health stigma and promoting mental health improvement through physical activity, human connection, and education. The team aims to raise awareness of those who need help to overcome barriers of fear and prejudice and connect them to the help they need.
