BikeExchange-Jayco has announced new sky blue and eggplant blue colors and new bike sponsors Giant and Liv as the Australian men's and women's WorldTour teams set new goals for 2022.
The men's team will race in blue shorts and blue jerseys with the shoulders faded to white. The women's team will have a different racing kit and independent identity for the first time ever, integrating Liv's eggplant brand colors with the blue and white of the men's team. Racewear will be made by the Italian company Ale.
The team's Giant and Liv bikes will be equipped with Shimano group sets and Cadex wheels, saddles, handlebars, and other accessories. The team will work closely with the Giant Group to test and develop next-generation products. The team will use Bianchi bikes in 2021.
The men's team, which will enter its 11th season at the World Tour level in 2022, includes sprinters Dylan Groenewegen, Alex Balmer, Lawson Craddock, Jan Maas, Kelland O'Brien, Jesús David Pena and Matteo Sobrero, The team welcomes eight new riders from seven countries, including Campbell Stewart.
She will be team leader with Vuelta a España winner and Giro d'Italia podium finisher Simon Yates and Tour de France stage winner and green jersey winner Michael Matthews.
The women's BikeExchange-Jayco (open in new tab) team has undergone a major reorganization, welcoming Georgia Baker, Kristen Faulkner, Nina Kessler, Alexandra Manley, Ruby Roseman-Gannon, Chelsea Tan Wei-Chi The team was led by the following six newcomers. These six newcomers will work alongside team leader and two-time Giro Rosa podium finisher Amanda Spratt.
Team owner Jerry Ryan, who has always partially funded the team through his company, said the team is poised to prosper in the coming years.
"It seems like only yesterday that we started our adventure into World Tour cycling as Australia's first professional cycling team. Time has flown by and the excitement and dedication is still there from day one," Ryan said.
