Raleigh's best-selling Motus e-bike series has been updated with more power and a modern look.

Raleigh has refreshed its lineup of best-selling Motus electric hybrid bikes. The Motus, Raleigh's best electric commuter bike, is now available in five different models, and it looks like the British brand has a new lineup to satisfy everyone as it looks to solidify its position in the commuter and e-bike market.

Starting at £2,199, the lineup includes commuter-specific models already equipped with a rear carrier and mudguards, as well as long-distance models with built-in lights and hub gears to reduce maintenance. All models are equipped with reflective tires, kickstands, and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes.

The updated range promises 80 to 100 miles of assisted travel on a single charge, and a variety of battery sizes and motor models are available, depending on which Motus model you choose.

Bosch motor-powered bikes are available in 10 colors and three frame shapes: crossbar, low step-through, and open, all designed to provide affordable options for active transportation. They offer up to 250% more assist power and virtually no noise. In addition, the new series features an integrated Bosch Powertube battery and a sleeker, more modern look. Weighing only 2.9 kg, they can be easily removed and recharged at home.

The new Purion display shows all the information the rider needs, such as battery level and remaining range.

The entry level includes the standard Motus, available in four colors, with a Bosch active motor and 300 Wh external battery. Equipped with Shimano 7-speed gears and Altus rear derailleur, Tektro hydraulic brakes, Santur Nex suspension fork, and Selle Royal Milo+ saddle, the bike is mounted on 700c alloy disc wheels with Miras 42mm tires. Like all Motus bikes, it is equipped with a rear carrier, mudguards, and kickstand.

Price: 1,900 pounds / 2,160 euros

Next in the lineup is the Motus Tour, designed to cover long distances and go on cross country tours. It features Shimano Altus 8-speed gears, a Suntour Nex suspension fork with the same 56mm travel, and a 400Wh external battery for extended range. It is available in blue, white, and gray, and in addition to the accessories included with the Motus, the Motus Tour has integrated front and rear lights and a built-in wheel lock.

Price: £2,200 / €2,500

Similar to the Motus Tour but featuring a lower maintenance setup, the Motus Tour hub, as you might expect, uses hub gears. This means that the entire shifting mechanism is housed inside and protected from the elements, reducing oil and mud and prolonging the life of the components. The bike is equipped with Shimano 7-speed hub gears, a Bosch active motor, and a 400 Wh external battery. It is available in gray, silver, and white.

Price: £2,300 / €2,620

The Motus GT (short for Grand Tour) is designed to cover even longer distances and last longer. Bosch's Active Line Plus motor joins the lineup and is paired with a 500 Wh external battery. Shimano's 9-speed Alivio gears offer a range of gears suitable for hilly terrain and are available in black, gray, or blue.

Price: £2,400 / €2,730

The Motus GT hub has similar components to the Motus GT, with Shimano 7-speed hub gears instead. It is available in black and blue.

Price: £2,500 / €2,850 [29]
