The Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) announced Monday that Zwift has signed a four-year sponsorship deal for the Paris-Roubaix Femme through 2025. The new deal builds on the global online fitness platform's investment in women's cycling after signing on as the presenting sponsor of the Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift.
"We are very proud to expand our relationship with ASO by becoming the first ever presenting partner of Paris-Roubaix Fam Avec Zwift," said Eric Min, CEO and co-founder of Zwift.
"Along with the Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift, this is a great opportunity to shine a light on one of the Tour's most iconic and exciting races and showcase the amazing quality and talent of the female peloton.
"Hell in the North is a highlight of the cycling calendar and we are confident that it will captivate audiences around the world and inspire women everywhere to begin their cycling journey."
The first event was added to the Women's World Tour on October 25, 2020, but cancelled due to COVID-19. The first edition of the Paris-Roubaix Fam took place last October and was won by Lizzie Deignan (Trek Segafredo). This year's Hell of the North will be held on April 16.
"It's great to have a company like Zwift come in to make the investment our sport deserves, allowing us to compete in some of the most iconic races in the world," said Kasia Niwiadoma (Canyon-SRAM).
"The Paris-Roubaix Fam Avec Zwift is truly something special and a race that always lives up to expectations.
ASO has not yet announced the route for the 2022 Paris-Roubaix Fam. However, last year's race was 115.6 km with 17 cobbled sections, including Mont-en-Pevere and Carrefour de l'Arbre, before finishing at the Roubaix Velodrome. This event will be the eighth race of the 2022 Women's World Tour.
"This has already proven to be a can't-miss event on the UCI Women's World Tour calendar, and it's great that Zwift is showing their support by increasing their investment in the development of professional women's cycling," Colin Labecki (Jumbo- Visma) said.
"This is another important milestone for the women's peloton and I am confident that the increased exposure will bring the drama and excitement of this race to more people than ever before."
Following Paris-Roubaix Femme is the return of the women's Tour de France, which will be held July 24-31.Zwift announced last June that it would be the presenting sponsor of the women's Tour de France (open in new tab)avec Zwift and entered into a four year partnership.
"We are especially excited to have Zwift as the title partner of the Paris-Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift. Zwift's involvement in the development of women's cycling continues after the creation of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, which will be held for the first time next July," said Jan Le Moener, general director of ASO.
." After our cooperation on the 2020 Virtual Tour de France and the success of the first edition of the Paris-Roubaix Femme last year, we are confident that with Zwift on our side, our efforts to develop women's cycling will be a success."
