NBC Sports Acquires Exclusive U.S. Broadcast Rights to Tour de France Femme

NBC Sports announced Wednesday that it has secured exclusive rights to air the highly anticipated Tour de France Femme Avec Zwift in the United States on Peacock and CNBC from July 24-31.

Race director Marion Luce said the U.S. broadcast networks have committed to air the event twice, in 2022 and 2023.

"We are delighted that NBC Sports will be joining the Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift broadcaster," Ruth said.

"For the two inaugural events, NBC Sports will bring the same expertise they show every year in their coverage of the Tour de France to the women's race, bringing the excitement of the race to fans across the country.

"NBC Sports will thus participate in the birth of a potential profession for young women in a country where women's cycling already holds an important place.

ASO and Ruth revealed the route of the eight-day Tour de France Femme last October at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. The women's peloton will compete for the prestigious yellow jersey over eight days and a total distance of 1,029 km.

The race will start at the Eiffel Tower and conclude with a summit finish at La Planche des Belle Fils.

In addition, a total prize purse of 250,000 euros and a first prize of 50,000 euros will be on offer, making this the richest race in the women's peloton.

"By adding this prestigious event to our cycling portfolio, we are excited to further deepen our relationship with the Amaury Sports Organization and showcase the extraordinary athletes who will be competing for the biggest prize money in women's cycling." said Michael Perman, Vice President of Programming for NBC Sports.

Cycling News will provide live text coverage of all eight stages of the 2022 Tour de France Femme with race reports, galleries, results, exclusive features and news.
