NXTG Adds AG Insurance as Title Sponsor, Partners with Quick Step Alpha Vinyl

Dutch women's team NXTG by Experza has joined forces with the men's QuickStep-AlphaVinyl team with AG Insurance as title sponsor.

The Belgian insurance company has signed a contract that runs through 2025 and the team will henceforth be known as AG Insurance -NXTG.

The team hopes to secure World Tour status in 2023 as part of a broader team structure centered around the men's Quick Step World Tour team, with Lefebvre's strategic support.

"We have joined forces with Quickstep Alphavinil Wolfpack and have big ambitions for the coming years," the team announced on social media following the sponsor announcement.

AG Insurance-NXTG will debut its new structure on Thursday at the Women's World Tour race, the Classic Bourges-Des Pannees. On Tuesday, team manager and founder Natasha den Oden said that the team continues to grow with the involvement of AG Insurance and Quick Step Alpha Vinyl.

"When we turned to an elite women's team in 2019 after our U19 year, we continued to build on that foundation. When you build a house you don't start with the roof, you start with the foundation," she said.

"Our goal is to provide a professional structure for young women riders to realize their dreams of becoming professional cyclists.

"This dream begins in 2019 with the first ever elite race at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, and with AG Insurance and Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl on our side, we will continue to grow every day and tomorrow.

"Our philosophy is to work to develop the next generation, the foundation, in women's cycling. We are firmly committed to creating a successful and sustainable sport with the solid support of AG Sompo."

Lefebvre said in December that he planned to create a men's continental team under the World Tour team, but also said that a women's team was a priority.

At the time, he contrasted the team's progress with the UAE Team Emirates' acquisition of Alée BTC Ljubljana, saying, "I think what we are doing now, which is to develop promising riders to the World Tour, is a more wonderful and healthy concept."

Speaking at the team's press event on Tuesday, Lefebvre said: "As I said when I first got involved with the NXTG team, we wanted to work with the women's team, help each other from the ground up and build a real foundation.

"During my time in cycling, we have a track record of working with young athletes and helping them grow. We will apply the same philosophy to this team, giving talented young riders a clear and sustainable path of growth under the spirit, culture, and philosophy that leads the day-to-day operations of Wolfpack.

." This is a unique project in women's cycling and we are very pleased that AG Insurance shares our vision." "We look forward to the growth of the athletes and the team."

AG Insurance-NXTG was founded in 2019 as Rogelli-Gyproc and has focused on developing young riders ages 18-23.

Former SD Worx rider Jolien D'Hoor joined the team this season as a directeur sportif, and riders Charlotte Kool and Shari Bossuyt have signed with Team DSM and Canyon-Sram and The team's upcoming season will see the team's first race in the world of women's racing.

The team's upcoming races include the Women's WorldTour Gent-Wevelgem and Amstel Gold Race, and the team will also debut at the Tour of Flanders on April 3.
