The 101st edition of the race kicks off on Monday, March 21, and will run for a week around northeastern Spain. The race will take in the high mountains of the Pyrenees and some challenging hilly sprint stages before finishing with the traditional Barcelona stage in the Parc Montjuïc.

Although there are no names on the start list, such as Tadej Pogachar or Primos Roglic, Catalunya has many big names competing in the seven-day race.

2021 winner Adam Yates will not be back to defend his title, but his team Ineos Grenadiers sent out a very strong team that included 2021 runner-up Richie Porte, Olympic champion Richard Karapas, and Pavel Sivakov
