The world watched live on television as Marianne Vos, one of the greatest cyclists of all time, finished second in the first ever Paris-Roubaix fam last fall. It was a historic victory for Lizzie Deignan and a heartbreaking loss for Vos.
Saturday's second edition will offer the Dutch women a new outlook, a new challenge, a different race, and a new chance to conquer the coveted "Hell of the North."
"I'm in great shape and really looking forward to it. We've tested a lot of tire pressures and we're ready as a team," Boss said on the eve of the race.

The women's Paris-Roubaix route will not include the famous Truet-Dalemberg on the men's route, but the women will race 124 km, slightly longer than the 115 km in 2021.
As for the cobblestones, they will tackle the same 17 sections and 29.2 km of cobblestones as last year. There are two 5-star difficulty levels: Mont-en-Pevere, with 49 km to go, and Carrefour de l'Arbre, with 17 km to go before the Vélodrome in Roubaix.
Deignan scored the win on the first pavé section, Hornan-a-Vandigny, for a solo victory of 82km. Vos chased hard from behind, but was unable to catch Deignan and finished second on the velodrome.
"Paris-Roubaix is one of the greatest races in cycling history. It's great to be able to participate in it, but I experienced last year that it is a very tough race, and I'm sure it will be the same this time. It helps that I know what to expect," Vos explained. [Before last year, I only knew Paris-Roubaix from television, but now I have the October experience in my pocket. The lack of rain will also help. Each sector is dry, so I can better judge where the road surfaces are the worst."
"Last year I was very happy when I entered the velodrome. The cobblestone sections are even longer and more vicious than the others, so I was always focused.
Conditions this year are expected to be dry and sunny, unlike last year's unruly rain and muddy conditions. This factor alone could make the outcome of Paris-Roubaix quite different.
"We really have to see what happens on Sunday," Vos said.
"It's a cliché, but it's true. Especially in a tournament like this, you can't do without luck. We have to have a good day and we must not let the material fall apart. Let's see what happens."
