Volering, this was the best I could do at La Flesche Wallonne.

Over the past half-decade, SD Works has dominated the last five Mules de Uys and the two races before that at La Flèche Wallonne Féminine with Anna van der Breggen.

Although now retired, Van der Breggen was in the team car for Wednesday's race in her new Director Sportif role.

After 133 km of eight major climbs, including three on the brutally steep Mûr de Huy, the 25-year-old made it to the podium at Chemin des Chapels.

The result was Volering's fourth podium of the spring, including her victory in Brabantspaille last week. After the race, Vollering said, "I did everything I and my team could do."

"It was a really hard race. I think the beginning of the race was a bit boring. I think it was a bit boring in the beginning. There was a group in front of me and Anna Shackley was there. She was really strong too, so it was perfect that she pulled away."

"When the pack caught up to the back, we tried to make it a really hard final. I think that was all we could do. The last mule was really, really hard."

Vollering said he felt dizzy during an interview after a sprinting contest on a double-digit gradient, adding that he did not feel very well during the race.

"I didn't feel very good," she said. I was sleepy the whole race. I think my stomach was a little bit upset. I think breakfast was still on its way."

"It was really hard, I almost fainted and I still feel like I'm dying. I worked hard with my team on the last two climbs.

With second places at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and the Amstel Gold Race, and a win at Brabantse Pijl to add to her podium at Flèche, Volering has one race left in her spring classic campaign.

She will remain in Wallonia this weekend, leading SD Walks to Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
