Following the 2019 acquisition of Sufferfest and its subsequent relaunch last year as the SYSTM training app, Wahoo announced it has acquired virtual cycling platform RGT Cycling. [Because while riders have been able to use SYSTM, RGT Cycling, Zwift, Trainerroad, and more with indoor cycling hardware like the Kickr turbo trianer, the premium Wahoo X subscription service The creation of the Wahoo X subscription service is a good thing, as it will allow riders to access the previous two platforms with a single login, and will likely create a viable competitor to Zwift's dominant position in the indoor cycling segment.
With this acquisition, riders will have access to all the features offered by RGT Cycling, plus a multi-sport and training-oriented experience over Zwift, including cycling, swimming, and running options, plus yoga and mental training options, SYSTM You will have access to all the benefits of a training app.
In addition to being able to virtually run your usual training loop if the weather is bad, or train for a specific course anywhere in the world from the comfort of your home ("comfort" is highly dependent on intensity level), the RGT platform will also allow you to train for world championship courses in Leuven and other iconic real-world courses are also offered integrated into the system, as well as fans and others who support the system.
Wahoo X costs $14.99 (about £12) per month or $129 (about £100) for an annual pass. This provides unlimited single sign-on access to SYSTM and Wahoo RGT, as well as simplified access to the larger Wahoo ecosystem, including the ELEMNT Companion App and Wahoo Fitness App.
Current RGT cycling subscribers and SYSTM users can migrate to the Wahoo X space at no additional charge. It is worth noting that the annual subscription option is not currently offered in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
