Team DSM looks to the future with contract extensions for Georgi, Kool, and Labs

Team DSM has signed three young stars, Pfeiffer Giorgi, Charlotte Cool, and Juliette Labouse, to contract extensions to strengthen the team for the next few years.

Labouse and Kool will remain with Team DSM until at least the end of 2024, while Georgi, the British national champion, will be under contract until at least the end of 2025.

"I am really excited to be able to renew my contract with Team DSM further. I'm very happy with the progress I've made with the team over the last few seasons and it's the perfect place to continue my development as we look towards even greater goals together."

Georgi, 21, won his first professional race last year at La Choralise Fourmise FĂ©minine, and also won the British National Championships road race in impressive fashion. This season, he missed the podium at the Douard de Flenderen and finished in the top 10 at Paris-Roubaix Fam, Omloop van het Hagelan, and GP Ecostructure.

"I have enjoyed my role as captain this season as well as the opportunity to be the final rider," he said. I'm especially looking forward to the next few years with my sights set on the Spring Classics, as well as contributing to more wins within the team and sharing some great memories together."

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Kuhl scored his first team win in the GP Ecostructure last weekend in a sprint after a perfect leadout from star sprinter Lorena Wiebes.

"I'm really happy to extend my contract with Team DSM for another two years until the end of 2024. In the last few months since I joined, I've found that this team suits me better than I thought beforehand and I feel like this is my home."

Since joining Team DSM, Kool has become part of its strong sprint train, swapping opportunities with Vieves to be the final rider.

"The way Team DSM works, the staff, and the atmosphere among the riders is something special, and it not only gives me confidence in my abilities, but also motivates me to go further as a rider.

Although LaBruce is only 23 years old, he has been with Team DSM for six seasons and is truly a veteran compared to Kool and Georgi. A strong time triallist, Labouse has also shown herself to be a strong GC rider, finishing second in the women's Tour and seventh in the 2021 Giro d'Italia Donne. She also just finished fifth overall in the Ituria women's race.

"I'm really happy to renew my contract with the team for even longer. Since joining Team DSM I have always made steady progress. I feel comfortable in the team environment and the philosophy suits me. Both the team and I want to develop my GC ability with the goal of achieving the best possible results in races like the Giro and Tour de France."
