Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for Newark Liberty Airport, where Caitlin Armstrong was last seen.

The U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force has offered a $5,000 reward for information regarding the whereabouts of suspect Katrin Marie Armstrong leading to her arrest and upgraded the investigation to a "major case."

Armstrong is wanted for first-degree murder felony in connection with the May 11 shooting death of gravel road cyclist Moriah Wilson in Austin, Texas.

U.S. Marshals are assisting the Austin Police Department (APD) with a homicide investigation and another fugitive investigation in the search for Armstrong. They received new information suggesting that Armstrong was dropped off at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey on May 18, the day after APD obtained a warrant for her arrest.

Newark Liberty Airport is now known as Armstrong's last known location, but a search of outbound flights at the airport showed that she was not booked under the name Caitlin Marie Armstrong, a marshal's A statement from the marshals sent to Cycling News on Monday revealed.

APD issued an arrest warrant for Armstrong in connection with the May 17 shooting of Wilson and subsequently requested assistance from the US Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Armstrong.

The arrest warrant named Armstrong, 34, who is wanted for first-degree felony murder, and described her as a white female with no additional aliases. The marshal also describes Armstrong as 5'8″ tall, weighing around 125 pounds, with long light brown curly hair and hazel eyes.

Investigators determined that Armstrong was at Austin Bergstrom International Airport at 12:30 p.m. on May 14, three days after the Wilson shooting. Surveillance video footage from that day showed a woman, whom authorities believe to be Armstrong, boarding a flight to Houston Hobby Airport and then connecting to a flight to LaGuardia Airport in New York City.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Fila confirmed to Cyclingnews at the time that he had not yet located Armstrong beyond LaGuardia Airport on May 14, but new information indicates that she later left LaGuardia on May 18 about 50 km away from LaGuardia Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport.

On May 25, investigators obtained another warrant from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas against Armstrong for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, officials confirmed in a statement Monday.

"Caitlin Armstrong is being charged with a very serious crime to which she must answer," said Susan Pamerleau, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Texas. 'Wherever she is, the best thing she can do at this point is to turn herself in to the authorities. That way, she can return safely to Austin and answer the charges against her. She needs to know that the marshals will not stop looking for her."
