Ahead of an important season for the Spanish team with the Giro d'Italia Donnay and Tour de France Fam Avec Zwift fast approaching, Aude Biernik has extended her contract with Movistar through 2024.
She has been with the team since its inception in 2018, and this contract extension will keep her running with Movistar for at least seven seasons.
With Annemiek van Fruten on the roster, Movistar is looking for an overall win in the eight-day Tour de France Femme.
"The choice to stay was easy because everyone trusts me. Our goal is to do our best in the Giro Donnay and the Tour Femme, and with such a great team, we have the ambition to achieve GC success in both." [July] is going to be a really special month for me. It's my first Tour Fam, in my country, with my home crowd. I want to be in top condition to give my maximum and bring great joy to the fans of the Movistar team."
In 2018, Biernik won the prologue at the Tour of Lotto Belgium, giving Movistar its first international victory. Since then, she has become an integral part of the team supporting Emma Norsgaard in the Sprint and Classic and Van Fluten in the GC.
In addition to being a domestique, Biernik has had some good results during her time with Movistar, including fifth overall in last year's Women's Tour and sixth overall in the 2018 Ladies Tour of Norway.
"I am very proud to be able to continue to run with each and every member of this team, which has already become a true family to me," Biernik said.
"I'm very motivated by the improvement each year, both individually and as a team as a whole, and I'm looking forward to the next year of racing.
Team manager Sebastien Unzue praised Biernik as one of the key reasons for Movistar's success.
"Her work is impeccable and she has earned the trust of all leaders, and rightly so. It was very important for us to have her confirmed in our team for the future."
