The Tour de Suisse is now tied up in a 25.6km time trial around the Liechtenstein capital of Faduz, with yellow jersey Sergio Iguita (Bora-Hansgrohe) holding a narrow 2-second lead over Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers) at the Start. [Meanwhile, Jacob Fuglsang (Israel Premier Tech) is in third place overall, 19 seconds behind Yellow in the stage 8 time trial.
Higuain will start at 15:50 (CET), while Thomas will start two minutes earlier at 15:48 (CET).
The start order has been compressed, with 81 riders participating in the final time trial of the Tour de Suisse, as four teams have left the race all together due to a series of abandonments caused by COVID-19.
Lorenzo Manzin (Total Energies) will start at 14:10, while Remco Evenpole (Quick-Step Alphavinil), who will start at 15:26, will be looking for a stage win here to put a new spin on the Tour de Suisse.
Locally, all eyes will be on Stefan Kühn (Groupama-FDJ). He is coming off the best climb of his career and is in seventh place overall ahead of this final test. The Swiss rider will start at 15:38, looking for a stage win and a top overall finish. The stage will also serve as preparation for the Tour de France opening time trial in Copenhagen in two weeks.
