Instagram is a great way to waste time in your day, but seeing everyone's personal highlight reels not only makes you feel worthless, it also gives you a peek into what bike brands are working on from time to time.
Factor sponsored rider Dylan Johnson recently posted a photo from Tushar's Crusher that appears to show him riding a Factor gravel bike that no longer exists. Careful stalking revealed that he was also riding this bike at Unbound.
It is too early to say what this bike is, but given that it is a more aero optimized package than the brand's current gravel bike, the Factor LS, it could be an update to this platform or a new independent model.
Now, only a few event photos are available, but compared to the Factor LS, the new model has a deeper head tube and the fork crown is tucked into the head tube section. The fork blades are also slightly deeper.
The rear end is very similar to the LS, with the same dropped seat stays, but this new model appears to have a more aerodynamic seat post. [This is similar to what we see on newer aero bikes like the Scott Foil and Trek Madone, which are designed for aero and increased stiffness.
One of the best gravel race bikes out there.
If you peek into Dylan's Instagram story in the next few hours, you'll see a close-up video of the frame, but there's no guarantee this will be hanging around.
